updated first boss
yay past me
so ive been project hopping between like my three furthest developed games, this one being one of them. and its always nice when you reopen an old project and see that past you made this easy to update and change stuff.
previously i had basically a wall for a boss in the first demo/builds of this game and its kinda lame, of course it was just prelim art but after scoping through the blend files in this project i found i had already made a few models and it was a matter of importing, placing, and making a few scripts that manages the boss (when it appears) and handles its destruction and end of level UI enabling.
in the spirit of making it easy for future me to work with this basic boss manager, i made it so that when all whatever number of "boss cores" on this boss are destroyed, it runs inspector set unity events to do whatever extra stuff i need. i know im just rambling at this point, but this way the boss manager could handle even more than 1 boss gameobject or more if wanted or needed, for like multi phase bosses.
for now however, the only boss made so far has 5 cores to destroy each with its own health pool. basic enough for a level 1 boss i reckon. still need to update a couple of other things pertaining to hit ratios and scores to actually save . then i'll upload an updated public build on here. (personal goal for this friday/saturday).
also updated the in between scene and will make it so that the players mech will be on the level the player is on as added polish. i'll probably make it so you can play with the model for a few seconds, idk but i think its better than the previous super mario bros black screen.
welp until next time. like everyone else, holiday times are a busy times for me, take care of yaselves!
